Administrative Assistant / Learning Support Assistant
Associate Tutor
We are looking for a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team in Teignmouth, Devon, in a permanent part-time role combining Administrative Assistant and Learning Support Assistant responsibilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is organised, people-focused, and experienced in supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Role Details
Location: Teignmouth, Devon
Contract: Permanent, part-time
Hours: 10 hours per week (5 hours Administrative Assistant + 5 hours Learning Support Assistant), with the potential to increase as the business grows
Pay:
Administrative Assistant: £12.50 per hour
Learning Support Assistant: £15.00 per hour
Working Weeks: 52 weeks per year (with statutory holiday entitlement)
Start Date: End of October 2025
Responsibilities
Administrative Assistant (5 hrs/week)
Provide general administrative support including emails, filing, record-keeping, and document preparation.
Assist with scheduling, office organisation, and communications.
Support the team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Learning Support Assistant (5 hrs/week)
Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEND.
Assist with differentiated learning tasks as directed by teaching staff.
Encourage and motivate students to reach their potential in a safe, inclusive environment.
Support with classroom management and wellbeing.
About You
Essential: Experience working with individuals with SEND.
Essential: Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS check (required for working with children and vulnerable individuals).
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Reliable, flexible, and able to balance both roles effectively.
Positive, proactive, and committed to making a difference.
Previous experience in administrative work is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, tailored lessons to individuals or small groups, following agreed plans set by the Lead Tutor.
Support learners in achieving their academic goals, adapting methods to suit a variety of learning styles and needs.
Provide additional assistance to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), where required.
Maintain clear communication with the Lead Tutor regarding learner progress, challenges, and next steps.
Assist with preparing resources and lesson materials as directed.
Uphold safeguarding, wellbeing, and professional standards at all times.
About You
Experience in tutoring, teaching, or supporting learners (essential).
Experience working with individuals with SEND (essential).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable, flexible, and organised.
Able to follow direction from the Lead Tutor while working independently with learners.
Must be able to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
Must have QTS or equivalent.
Own transport.
